Happy Monday everyone! Say hey to Jayne, new HOM based at Holiday Inn Express Leeds City Centre but previously managed the team over at Bradford.

Tell us a bit about yourself and your position?

I have worked in hotels ever since leaving Uni. I did my placement at the Crowne Plaza Leeds and the Sales Manager there was fabulous and I was hooked on hospitality!

I am currently the new HOM at Leeds City Centre.

How long have you worked with Atlas?

Just over 7 years.

What was your first-ever job?

Waitress at a local restaurant in Pudsey (yep…like the bear!)

What’s the best piece of advice you’d give a younger version of yourself?

There’s always something to learn from every experience; you might not realise it straight away but there is, so pay attention!

What is your top-tier snack?

Anything savoury, but you can’t beat melted camembert on the BBQ with a crusty baguette and a bit of sweet chilli jam!

What interested you about working at Atlas Hotels?

I started before we were Atlas but I have loved seeing the changes over the years, and our expansion and I am excited to see where we will go next. I couldn’t imagine working for anyone else!

Who has been your biggest influence and why?

One of my first GMs, Joanne. She was brilliant; knew her job inside out and wasn’t afraid to get stuck in (or tell YOU to!). I learned so much from her and have built on that throughout the rest of my career, she still is a positive influence on me today.

How do you prefer to start your mornings?

I am definitely an early bird, not a night owl – and I always start with a good coffee!

What’s one thing you did recently you are proud of?

In the last 8 months, I have bought a house, got engaged, started learning to drive, embarked on our Evolve leadership programme (which I have learnt so much from) AND become a HOM in a new hotel.

Each of those things makes me proud in a different way and I am so happy with where I am in my life at the moment…bring on the rest of 2022 and 2023!
