How to spend a weekend in Peterborough

We’ve put together an itinerary for you to spend the weekend here. All you need to do is book a room and pack a bag!

Day 1 - Arrive in Peterborough

Head back to the hotel

Day 2 - Grab breakfast

Stop 1 - Ferry Meadows in Nene Park

Walk through the open spaces, lakes and woodlands at Ferry Meadows in Nene Park. Hire a bike or book a boat trip near the visitor centre if you fancy a trip on the water.

Stop 2 - Queensgate Shopping Centre

Go on a shopping spree at Queensgate Shopping Centre. With a variety of high-street brands and independent stores, you’ll find something you love.

Stop 3 - Charters Bar

Relax by the river and get some food at Charters Bar, a venue onboard a converted Dutch barge moored on the River Nene. Choose from the impressive selection of ales, while listening to live music from local artists.

Stop 4 - The Embankment

Kick your feet up and watch the colourful boats moor up on the River Nene. If you’re a fan of water sports, make sure to pre-book canoeing lessons ahead of time. It’s also great for picnics, riverside walks and events.

Stop 5 - The Argo

Stop by the Argo Lounge for dinner, a stylish café-bar in Peterborough’s Cathedral Square that offer anything from tapas to burgers.
