We catch up with Abs, one of our Cluster Operations Managers at Atlas hotels. Find out a bit more about Abs below…
Tell us a bit about yourself?
I’m the Cluster Operations Manager (COM) of Cluster 4 – Holiday Inn Express Stoke, Stafford, Lichfield, Birmingham Snow Hill and Hampton By Hilton Birmingham – Jewellery Quarter. I enjoy working with my HOMs, engaging with their teams and visiting the hotels.
What attracted you to Atlas Hotels?
I joined Atlas Hotels when it was named Somerston Hotels and had a fierce reputation of being the best! Due to this, I decided to take a step down as Front of House Operations Manager to become in GSM in Oldbury Birmingham back in 2013, as I knew working for this Hotel Group would be better for my career in the longer term. Fast forward today, I made the right choice as I am now a Cluster Operations Manager leading a number of hotels in the West Midlands, as well as being involved in a variety of projects.
What has been your highlight of working here so far?
Being a part of Atlas Hotel’s ambitions to grow our hotels, has allowed me to work with a wide range of colleagues with a broad and diverse range of cultures.
What are you most looking forward to in your Atlas career?
I look forward to continuing our focus on guests and providing the best possible hotel experience. I’m excited to grow my cluster whilst continuing to engage with a wide variety of team members!

Show Commitment – I’m super excited to be leading the largest Holiday Inn Express in Europe (Birmingham Snow Hill) along with Hampton by Hilton Birmingham – Jewellery Quarter as they are now part of the Atlas family!
Which of our hotels are you most looking forward to visiting?
There’s so many, I can’t decide. I love them all for different reasons.
What’s one motto that you live by and why?
I live by a quote I read in a motivational book by Catherine Pulsifer – this is something I always share with my teams when ask to talk about my own personal values the quote says “We are all different, which is great because we are all unique. Without diversity, life would be very boring”.
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself?
I have two beautiful children to whom I annoy very much!! A 17-year-old son Elijah (Mr Cool) and a 13-year-old daughter Chyenne. My daughter lives in Montpellier, South France and has recently become fluent in French & Spanish after only living there for 2 years!
